Northern Staffing Services is currently seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Temporary Receptionist / Human Resources Administrator for one of our valued clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced office environment, and is looking to gain valuable experience in both reception and Human Resources.

What You'll Do
As the Receptionist / HR Administrator, you'll serve as the first point of contact for employees, applicants, customers, vendors, and visitors while providing administrative support to the client's Human Resources department.
Responsibilities include:
  • Greet and assist visitors, applicants, customers, contractors, and employees in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Maintain employee timekeeping records using Kronos and assist with payroll and attendance systems.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department.
  • Prepare documents, reports, letters, and presentations using Microsoft Office.
  • Assist with HR projects, employee records, and confidential documentation.
  • Help coordinate meetings, customer visits, and company events.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception and meeting area.
  • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required (college coursework or business certificate preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources administration or a similar administrative role.
  • Accounting knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and professional phone etiquette.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, or timekeeping systems such as Kronos, ADP, or PeopleSoft is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, recordkeeping, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
