Information on the division:
Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Hรฉroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.
As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:
The Plater prepares, maintains, and operates chrome, nickel, and cadmium tanks using both dip and electroplating on commercial and military landing gear parts.
Main responsibilities:
  • Plating and electro-plating parts with Hard chrome, Cadmium-titanium, and Sulfamate nickel, using the following processes:
  • Surface Preparation:
    • Grit blast
    • Masking of parts (tapes, lacquers, and wax)
    • Cleaning of surfaces
  • Plating Processes:
    • Hard chrome
    • Cadmium-titanium
    • Sulfamate nickel
    • Brush Plating
  • Post Plating:
    • Cleaning
    • Baking
    • Stripping of plating (chrome, nickel, cadmium)
  • Read and apply work instructions, blueprints, or other instructional documentation.
  • Install conforming plating anodes on parts.
  • Measure surfaces before and after plating with dial gauges, O.D micro-meters and magnetic induction thickness measurement instruments.
  • Utilize ceiling lift, fork lift, or similar to transport parts into plating tanks, ovens, machining dept
  • Document and maintain traceability for all parts per AS9100 and other quality requirements.
  • Evaluate plating problems and suggest solutions.
  • Work with process specialists and management to continuously improve processes to optimize production times and quality.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Experience with plating processes (chrome, nickel, cadmium) and preparatory processes is desired but not obligatory.
  • Knowledge of applying masking and lead tapes is desired but not obligatory.
  • Experience using conforming anodes in plating processes is desired but not obligatory.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled at blueprint interpretation.
  • Competent in the use and setting of hand gauges.
