Development Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities
The Development Coordinator is a key position among the North Country Public Radio (NCPR) team in our Canton, NY office. This is a mission-critical, detail-oriented, operations role that includes daily cash receipting and reconciliation support and is responsible for gift processing and donor stewardship, direct mail production, database maintenance, phone coverage, event coordination, and supply inventory. Reports to Development Director. Supports Giving Manager & Underwriting Manager.
The coordinator's key responsibilities include:
• Donation processing (mail, phone, events, online reports) and CRM entry
• Daily cash receipting, deposit preparation, documentation, and reconciliation support
• Direct mail coordination (mail merges, printing/copying, assembly, tracking)
• Acknowledgments/receipts, invoices/statement reminders, and payment decline follow-ups
• Database updates (contact/billing changes, returned mail) and basic lists/reports
• Phone coverage and visitor support; daily mail distribution
• Event logistics and day-of support; occasional off-site outreach support
• Supply ordering, inventory management, and vendor relationships
• Occasional evening/weekend hours for events
• Some travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, service-minded, and comfortable handling confidential donor and financial information. The candidate must possess initiative, a strong work ethic, excellent people skills and judgement and the ability to coordinate and accomplish multiple detailed projects with competing priorities in a confidential, accurate, efficient, supportive, and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School (or equivalent) and minimum of one year of related work experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities
• Solid computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and common office software, ability to learn related systems required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Highly organized and motivated team player who is professional and creative
• A high degree of confidentiality
• Ability to move up to 50 lbs. with assistance
Preferred Qualifications
• bachelor's or associate degree with work-related experience preferred;
• Prior office/admin experience (nonprofit a plus)
• CRM/donor database experience
• Event coordination and mail production experience
• Familiarity with public radio
Salary
$22.00 - $28.00/hr. (actual starting rate will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors protected by law).
