APPLY BY APRIL 15, 2026 TO BE CONSIDERED FOR INTERVIEWS THE WEEK OF APRIL 20, 2026 Through the services of its departments, Nevada County's Health & Human Services Agency develops and implements programs that fulfill the County's commitment to provide support to our residents. We are pleased to be recruiting to fill several positions for Behavioral Health Therapists in a variety of capacities.

Examples of Duties The Positions Therapists serving our Behavioral Health Adult ACCESS and Adult Therapy Teams provide clinical services to adults in our community through assessment, engagement, and therapeutic support. While both roles collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, each position has a distinct focus. Adult ACCESS Team Therapist The ACCESS Team serves as the primary entry point to services.

Therapists in this role focus on outreach, screening, and assessment to connect individuals with appropriate care. Responsibilities include: Conducting outreach, engagement, screenings, and clinical intake assessments in the clinic, field, and community settings Establishing diagnoses and coordinating referrals to appropriate services Providing brief therapeutic interventions when needed Crisis intervention, case management, and documentation of services Building collaborative relationships with community partners Adult Therapy Team Therapist Therapists on the Adult Therapy Team provide ongoing outpatient treatment to adults receiving services through the behavioral health clinic. Responsibilities include: Providing psychotherapy and therapeutic skill-building interventions Supporting clients in stabilizing and reducing symptoms of severe mental illness Participating in multidisciplinary care with case managers, nurses, and psychiatrists Crisis intervention, care coordination, and documentation of services Services in both roles are provided in collaboration with the clinical team and community partners.

Education and Experience Required A Master's degree from an accredited college or university, or from a school, college, or university that is approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or meeting the educational requirement of 48 semester/trimester or 72 quarter units of master's level coursework to accrue hours for Supervised Professional Experience (SPE), per the Board of Psychology AND completion of supervised clinical experience sufficient to qualify for licensure. In addition to the above education, the following are also required: Licenses and Certificates All levels: Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire. Behavioral Health Therapist I and Behavioral Health Therapist II: Registration as an intern for licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners or meeting requirement as defined by the Board of Psychology to accrue hours of Supervised Professional Experience (SPE), or licensed in another State.
