About the Clinician's Workday

Clinicians in this role will provide anesthesia services during day and night shifts at a large inpatient facility in Virginia, with a minimum commitment of two weeks per month required. Call coverage is a required component of this assignment, with a call ratio of 1:7. Board certification in Anesthesiology is required for all clinicians in this role. This position offers flexible scheduling with 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, and candidates must be available to work all shift types. Overtime may be required beyond the scheduled shift. Providers must also be willing to participate in both weeknight and weekend call, with the call schedule currently pending; pager call is approximately 1 in 7. Clinical responsibilities include a broad range of anesthesia cases, including general anesthesia, Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, spinal and epidural anesthesia, regional OB, spine surgery, complex vascular procedures, complex orthopedic cases, ventilator management, and central line placement. The position is based at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, a 273-bed facility and the regions only Level III Trauma Center, serving Virginia Beach, the Eastern Shore, and Northeastern North Carolina. The hospital is an accredited Primary Stroke Center and Magnet-recognized for nursing excellence, with specialized programs in heart and vascular care, neuroscience and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and spine services, while also providing a wide range of advanced tertiary and clinical care services.
