To excel as a Temporary CDL Driver, you need a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a clean driving record, and knowledge of transportation regulations. Familiarity with fleet management systems, GPS navigation, and electronic logging devices (ELDs) is typically required. What is a Temporary CDL?

A Temporary CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a short-term commercial driving permit issued to individuals who have met certain requirements but are awaiting their full CDL. This permit is often used by drivers who have passed their skills test but are awaiting the issuance of their permanent CDL, or by those who need to drive commercially for a short duration. The validity and requirements for a Temporary CDL can vary by state.
