Position Type: Part-Time / Event-Based
Compensation: Competitive $16-$18.50 per hour (Based on Experience)
Position Summary
The Catering Bartender / Server plays a key role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service at catered events. This position is responsible for assisting with event setup and breakdown, serving food and beverages, operating temporary bar setups, and creating a memorable guest experience through professional and attentive service.
The ideal candidate is energetic, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced event environment. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to seamlessly transition between bartending and serving responsibilities throughout an event.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesEvent Setup & Breakdown
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of tables, linens, chairs, décor, buffets, bars, and event equipment.
  • Set up and break down temporary bar stations according to event specifications.
  • Ensure all event spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing event supplies and equipment as needed.
Bartending Responsibilities
  • Greet guests and provide exceptional beverage service.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
  • Mix and garnish cocktails following company standards.
  • Make beverage recommendations and answer guest inquiries.
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and notify management of any concerns regarding excessive consumption.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, equipment, and glassware.
  • Inventory beer, wine, liquor, and bar supplies before and after events.
  • Process beverage orders and payments according to venue requirements when applicable.
Serving Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional food and beverage service.
  • Replenish buffets, stations, and beverage areas throughout events.
  • Pass hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and beverages to guests.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist with bussing, clearing tables, and maintaining event cleanliness.
  • Support front-of-house, back-of-house, and side work duties to ensure smooth event operations.
Teamwork & Professionalism
  • Maintain clear communication with event managers and team members throughout events.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure successful event execution.
  • Remain professional, composed, and solution-oriented in fast-paced environments.
  • Follow all company policies, health regulations, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and a positive attitude at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current TIPS Certification required.
  • Previous bartending, serving, catering, hospitality, or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of standard drink recipes, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Working knowledge of bar equipment and beverage service procedures.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and Saturdays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry items up to 30 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record preferred.
