Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Server plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience and representing the spirit of the restaurant/beer garden. With professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality, the Server guides guests through our food and beverage offerings, creating memorable dining moments that reflect the values and culture of the company. This position requires strong menu knowledge, composure under pressure, and an authentic passion for service and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Embody and model the companys core values through authentic hospitality, positive communication, and consistent professionalism.
  • Deliver friendly, engaging, and attentive service that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all food, beverage, and dessert offerings, making thoughtful recommendations to elevate the dining experience.
  • Ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional overall experience from arrival to departure.
  • Prepare, maintain, and reset tables and service stations by completing all assigned sidework.
  • Assist runners in delivering food and beverages promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain clean, organized service areas and ensure tables are cleared and reset efficiently.
  • Monitor guests needs proactively, anticipating refills, additional items, and timing of courses.
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to maintain smooth service and positive communication during high-volume periods.
  • Support overall operations by assisting with setup and breakdown of stations, coffee service, and wine restocking as directed.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and communicate promptly with management when assistance is needed.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies, maintaining active TIPS/TAMS and ServSafe food handler certifications.
  • Be available for evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by business volume.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Reach, bend, lift, and carry frequently.
  • Lift and carry trays, boxes, or supplies up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain balance and coordination while carrying multiple plates or drinks.
  • Use hands, arms, and fingers for serving, carrying, and cleaning.
  • Hear and communicate clearly with guests and coworkers in a lively environment.
  • Maintain stamina and composure during extended shifts and peak service hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of server experience in fine-dining or upscale casual environments required.
  • Excellent verbal communication and guest-engagement skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of food, cocktails, wine, and beer.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent hospitality experience preferred.
