To thrive as a Temp RN, you need a current RN license, a solid grasp of clinical procedures, and recent nursing experience, often across multiple care settings. Familiarity with various electronic health record (EHR) systems, patient monitoring technologies, and facility-specific protocols is important for immediate effectiveness. Flexibility, strong communication, and rapid adaptability help temp RNs integrate quickly with diverse teams and patient populations. These skills ensure consistent, high-quality care and smooth transitions in fast-paced or short-staffed healthcare environments.

They perform the same duties as permanent RNs, including patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams. Temporary assignments can range from a few days to several months, depending on the employer's needs.
