Overview

Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, is seeking PRN/backfill Athletic Trainer to work at the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, CA. (This would be for scheduled leave coverage.) Reno, NV provides the airport for the area.  Reno is approximately 83 miles north of base housing.  This is a very unique opportunity working with our Marines.  Remote location with purpose to teach war fighting in the mountains with cold environments.  Run courses all throughout the year where incoming students rotate through (smaller courses-be a sniper in the mountains, run radios, MQS specific trainings), they also do larger level courses that run for a month plus.

Bridgeport is a hub of recreation in the Eastern Sierras.  With all the benefits and amenities of a small town, it is know for its fishing, goreious lakes and streams, and hiking amongst beautiful mountains.  Easy access to Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley in addition to Reno.

As a civilian contractor working for Cognito Systems, you will serve as an Athletic Trainer, contributing to the mission of the United States Marine Corps' Sports Medicine Injury Prevention (SMIP) Program. Your expertise will play a vital role in optimizing performance and readiness.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
  • Be a Part of the Team: Cognito Systems, LLC is Mentor-Protege Joint Venture between Resolution Think and QuarterLine Consulting Services. Cognito Systems is committed to providing high-quality service to our customers and to delivering world-class healthcare to members of our military and our nation's veterans. 
  • Type of Work: PRN-Backfill, M-F 40/hour work week. (scheduled leave coverage)

Minimum Requirements

How to Qualify:

  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training 
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Passing score from the BOC for the Athletic Trainer. National Provider Identifier (NPI). 
  • Certification: Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide health care within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts. 
  • Experience: Recent experience as a licensed Athletic Trainer.
  • Citizenship:U.S.Citizenship. 
  • Credentialing:Ability to pass background check and drug screen.Current physical and immunizations.
  • Physical: Possess and maintain the ability to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms/45lbs.
  • Job Site Requirements:You must be on the premises to perform the job. The environment is fast-paced and multifaceted, with conditions and duties that can change quickly throughout a shift. 
Compensation

$64,000 to $80,000 annual salary (based on hours worked) depending on experience
