Job description

Position Purpose:

Loading, unloading, and blending of products in a safe and efficient manner. Controlling quality and storage of liquid products to and from tanks, railcar, and trucks. Coordinates operational procedures, packaging, and supervision of bulk materials.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform rework or disposition of packaging componentry, such as bottles and cartons, that are damaged or otherwise non-conforming.
  • Manage overall packaging quarantine area and lead recovery team in handling and disposition of such items.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with disposition of damaged or nonconforming items, such as leaking bottles or other non-saleable products.
  • Transport product to packaging quarantine area for disposal.
  • Drive forklift or assist forklift drivers as needed.
  • Sort product to minimize accumulation of salvage.
  • Work with supervisors to prioritize and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead and oversee teams of temporary workers during large-scale dumping or rework of finished good projects.
  • Maintain an open relationship with supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
  • Adhere to established company values and procedures.
  • Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety standards including 6S methodology.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be a certified forklift operator
  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Experience leading and managing others
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with co-workers
  • Ability to effectively handle group and individual work assignments.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of written instructions and ability to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Good judgment and decision making.
