Plans, organizes, and manages Exchange telecommunications and networks to support the IT infrastructure management function. The tasks associated with this work may include but are not limited to ensuring the daily production workload is met, provides network design, engineering, implementation, and operations supports of networks established to delivered worldwide telecommunications, monitors the networks, reviewing daily logs and reports for defects to achieve optimum performance, reviewing and establishing procedures to support telecommunications and network workload. Provides the analysis and or design for supporting telecommunications and networks resulting from new projects.
Ensures internal controls are adhered to in relation to audit, security, systems and data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Plans/evaluates/implements the delivery and improvement of services, staffing and resources. Consults with software/hardware vendors and other establishment workers to solve problems impeding network processing.
Provides level 5, or subject matter expert, support in identifying and troubleshooting issues for the AAFES telecommunications and network computing environment. May develop budget and expenditures for the department. Provides project leadership for new initiatives, devises improvements to current policies and procedures.
Prepares and presents status reports to senior IT management. Coaches and manages staff. Uses proficient knowledge to manage the tasks and events associated with this process.
Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.
