Looking for a position that makes you smile?

We're seeking a Network & Telecom Engineer to join our growing team.

TheNetwork & Telecom Engineer supports the reliability, security, and performance of network and telecommunications services across Smile Doctors' clinics and corporate locations. This position ensures uninterrupted connectivity for patient check-in, imaging, practice management systems, VoIP phones, and clinical workflows.

How you'll make us better:

  • Support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity across a distributed clinic environment
  • Maintain standardized network configurations for clinics (switching, firewalls, wireless)
  • Troubleshoot network issues impacting patient flow, imaging systems, EHR/PMS access, and clinical devices
  • Support VLAN segmentation for clinical, guest, voice, and back-office traffic
  • Assist with new clinic openings, relocations, and acquisitions
  • Administer VoIP phone systems supporting front desk, clinical staff, and call routing
  • Support call-center integrations, auto-attendants, on-call routing, and failover configurations
  • Coordinate with telecom providers and vendors for outages, provisioning, and escalations
  • Ensure business continuity for phones during ISP outages (LTE/5G backup, call forwarding)
  • Act as the technical point of contact for ISPs, telecom carriers, and network vendors
  • Manage circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and vendor follow-through
  • Coordinate multi-vendor troubleshooting with clear ownership and escalation paths
  • Maintain accurate circuit, carrier, and equipment inventories
  • Monitor network and voice services to identify issues before they impact clinics
  • Assist in firewall rule management, VPN access, and security best practices
  • Support patching and firmware upgrades for network and telecom equipment
  • Follow healthcare-appropriate security and compliance standards
  • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for Helpdesk and Field Services
  • Respond urgently to outages impacting patient care or clinic operations
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours clinic support
  • Document root cause and contribute to prevention of repeat incidents
  • Maintain clinic network diagrams, standards, and runbooks
  • Ensure new clinics follow Smile Doctors network and telecom standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinic IT reliability and uptime

Your special skills:

  • Solid communication skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues remotely and coordinate on-site resources

Prerequisites for success:

  • High School diploma required
  • Three (3) years of experience in a network or telecom administration position supporting multi-site, patient-facing, or retail environments required; healthcare, dental, or orthodontic industry preferred
  • CCNA, Network+, or similar certification preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, Firewalls and VPNs
  • Intermediate knowledge of VoIP and call routing
  • Intermediate knowledge of ISPs and managed service providers
  • Familiarity with Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with Talkdesk or similar cloud call-center solutions
  • Familiarity with LTE/5G failover and circuit redundancy
