Our company continues to move the avionics industry forward by designing the next generation of technology as well as the latest iterations of our flagship products to ensure easier management and safety & reliability of all phases of flight.

As UA's Technical Writer, you will write and edit technical copy for various company publications and work with engineers and other technical personnel to ensure the technical accuracy of all publications. You will work as part of a team but also will have projects and assignments where you will work independently and accomplish your objectives with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Write and edit technical copy for various company publications, which may include product documentation for use in design, development, verification, product certification, and installation. When appropriate, convert technical language into easily understood terms.
  • Implement applicable configuration management requirements. Coordinate scheduling with program managers.
  • Work with engineers and other technical personnel to collect, interpret, and clarify content of technical documents in conformance with publication standards, industry specifications, and company processes.
  • Manage the review and approval process for all product documentation to ensure that project schedules are completed on time.
  • Implement the applicable configuration management requirements for all product documentation, including planning, identification, change control, and status accounting.
  • Implement and suggest improvements to business processes.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a writing-related or science/engineering field and two (2) or more years of experience with documentation, publications, or content management in a high-tech environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
