About the Organization
Liberty Dogs™ is a premier Service Dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs provide. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled IT Manager with strong expertise in a variety of software applications including Microsoft 365 and Cisco networking technologies to oversee and support the organization's IT infrastructure and daily technology operations. This hands-on leadership role combines team supervision with active technical involvement to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable systems across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT operations and support teams while personally configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software, hardware, network systems, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations & Team Management:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including network infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user support.
  • Supervise and support IT staff, including network engineers, system administrators, and desktop support personnel.
  • Assist in prioritizing IT initiatives and implementing technology solutions that support organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and support services.
  • Maintain IT documentation, inventory, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure network uptime, system reliability, backup processes, and disaster recovery readiness.

Technical & Hands-On Responsibilities:
  • Configure, install, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure (Cisco Meraki or WLC).
  • Design and support secure Layer 2/3 networks, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure issues.
  • Manage and support access control systems, including Verkada.
  • Support Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM), and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.
  • Assist with IT security administration including firewall management, access controls, endpoint protection, and threat mitigation.

Infrastructure & Compliance:
  • Support compliance efforts related to applicable standards and security requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI).
  • Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and ongoing maintenance projects.
  • Support virtualization, cloud connectivity, and network monitoring tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and platforms.
  • Cisco certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking, cybersecurity, VoIP, and IT infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and network monitoring tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong Experience working with Microsoft Platforms including Microsoft 365.
  • Experience working with high level AV systems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Must be comfortable working onsite daily in a facility with service dogs.
  • Able to operate standard office equipment.
  • Professional office environment, with dogs, dog dander and animal hair
  • This is a full-time,onsite, position that requires flexibility. A typical work week will be 40 hours and may include weekends and evenings.Required attendanceat events and/or emergencies may require longer hours or evening work.
