PROGRAM: Sports Management Development Program

JOB TITLE: Sports Management Associate

LOCATION: Arlington, TX

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: TBD

WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, with the ability to work weekends and/or extended hours, as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The USBC paid training program is designed to prepare you for career opportunities within our organization and the sports industry. Over a period of 100 days, you will get hands-on training and experience in every aspect of a national governing body for the sport of bowling. From Team USA to Finance to Marketing, and everything in between. Study each area within this non-profit organization through a fully paid training program that seeks to establish job placement upon completion of the training program.

If you are a self-driven, independent individual looking to reach your full potential in the sports industry, the Sport Administration Management Trainee position is the perfect opportunity for you.

This position may include a temporary domestic assignment for an extended period as a staff member at the USBC Open and/or Women's Championships.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observing and learning from experienced staff members.
  • Completing all assigned tasks and assisting with day-to-day operations.
  • Participating in meetings, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
  • Gaining knowledge of company policies, protocols, and processes.
  • Building business relationships within and outside of the organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word).
  • Comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible, handling changing priorities.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business degree or relevant experience.
  • Interest in working for a sports organization.
  • Must pass the RVP program and maintain a "Green Light" status.
  • Must adhere to the Code of Conduct of the USBC Registered Volunteer Program is a condition of employment and continued employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 50lbs.
