Job Purpose
The Production Coordinator at the Distribution Center (DC) is primarily responsible for releasing orders to the DC floor as planned and scheduled by the Demand Planner, and for coordinating the flow of work and materials to ensure that plan is carried out accurately and on time. Issues, manages and expedites work orders.Works closely with the Demand Planner to support and help execute the overall plan, including evaluating inventory availability, lead times, and order timing. Interacts closely with the DC team-including Warehouse, Inventory Control, Quality, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing, Accounting, Human Resources and Sales/Marketing-to ensure the plan is executed effectively and to meet and support our customers' requirements while maintaining DC efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments at the DC.
  2. Releases orders to the DC floor for all shifts as planned and scheduled by the Demand Planner.
  3. Ensure daily order release requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation.
  4. Daily verification of order release and fulfillment reported by DC and inventory control staff.
  5. Reviews available inventory and dates new orders daily in support of the Demand Planner's schedule.
  6. Responds to lead time requests, daily.
  7. Escalates issues as necessary to ensure that actual order release and fulfillment meets the expected throughput to minimize errors and fulfill the demand plan.
  8. Analyze usage requirements to ensure the minimization of work in process (WIP) and excess inventory on the floor.
  9. Work closely with supervisors to make sure the departments has the needed components and materials necessary for flow of order release.
  10. Work closely with supervisors to ensure that necessary staff is available to run the required workload.
  11. Work closely with the Demand Planner to understand and support the overall plan, providing floor-level feedback on capacity, constraints, and order status.
  12. Work with and assist the Demand Planner to develop ITO and delivery precision performance for each product type.
  13. Assist with the preparation for the monthly KPI and business unit forecast precision roundtable meetings.
  14. Engage in process improvement projects with interfacing departments to ensure continual process improvements.

Assist with driving DC and order fulfillment efficiencies.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
    1. APICS-CPIM preferred
    2. Proficient knowledge with WMS/MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel power user, PowerBI and PowerPoint
    3. 3 years' experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment working within order release, scheduling, and/or supply chain functions is preferred
    4. Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or

    related field and/or equivalent experience is preferred
    1. Experience in SIOP or relevant experience preferred
    2. Knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including demand planning, order release,

    and replenishment processes in a distribution center environment
    1. Excellent problem solving and analytic skills-ability to manage complexity and resolve

    conflicts that arise
    1. Ability to work well under pressure and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
    2. Must be well organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks in a controlled manner
    10. Effective communication skills both oral and written; including computer literacy

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Demonstrate strong analytical skills
  2. Strong IT/systems use, with good Excel skills.
  3. Working knowledge of software related to demand planning is preferred
  4. Experience managing internal communications, working cross-functionally to deliver results.
