Position Summary
Provide technical writing and editing support for information technology and scientific communications efforts. This role assists with developing, formatting, and improving customer-facing deliverables in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of technical documents, white papers, userโ€™s manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
  • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, technical documents, white papers, userโ€™s manuals, special reports, and other customer deliverables.
  • Apply consistent formatting using common word processing and document production tools.
  • Write, rewrite, and edit reports, articles, and software documentation for information technology systems, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and supporting new releases of technical material.
  • Apply audio/visual (A/V) communications techniques to scientific subject matter, as required (e.g., narration scripts, slide content, visual storyboards).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in journalism or a related field involving written communications.
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • 3+ years of specialized experience in information technology documentation.
  • Demonstrated expertise with formatting tools in common word processing applications.
  • Proficiency in writing, rewriting, and editing technical content for IT systems in accordance with DoD regulations and standards.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical/scientific topics clearly to varied audiences.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience producing deliverables such as user guides, installation guides, training materials, and proposals on technical programs.
  • Familiarity with document configuration control and editorial style guides.
  • Ability to translate SME inputs into clear, well-structured content; strong interviewing and requirements-gathering skills.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, developers, and program stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfort developing A/V support content (e.g., slide decks, scripts, speaker notes) aligned to technical messaging.
Deliverables Supported
