The Technical Training Manager for Rotary Drillsis responsible fortechnical competence development onthe SandvikRotary drills. This person willbe responsible forthe development of technical training material and delivery of technical training both in-person and through virtual platforms. The Technical Training Manager will also develop new training methods and tools to ensure continuous training on Rotary Drills, enabling training to be executed virtually, remotely and by the Sandvik frontline organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical training team, responsible for training the Supply Team, developing eLearning and training operators internal and external in the field.

  • Manage all technical competence development for Rotary Drills; assessments and reporting processes, systems, training support personnel, training tools, policies, and practices to ensure current and futurerequirementof the businessismet.

  • Deliver training on Rotary Drills to ensure safe service and maintenance of the drills.

  • Mapping andidentifyingtechnical competence in the Sales Areas and the Divisional technical support team. This will be done through assessments, identification, and prioritization of learning needs.

  • Technical competence development of the Technical Services team, Design and Developmentteamand the Supply team.

  • Develop technical training material to cover all aspect of the Rotary Drills to ensure support personnel for both the frontline team and the customer, to safely troubleshoot technical issues, resolve technical issues andmaintainthe drill to the highest standards.

  • Supplying the Sales Area aftermarket staff with product training courses and product training tools on all products.

  • Develop new training methods and tools,e.g.eLearning, Webinars, Simulators, by working closely with internal resources and preferred suppliers.

  • Keep up to date with the latest training tools and introduce new methods to improve our training systems.

  • Complies withSandvik safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.

  • Responsibility toidentifyand report any unsafe work habits.

  • Ensures that all activities are carried outin accordance withCompany Values and current Company Policies and Procedures.

  • Comply withpolicies, guidelines, regulatory requirements and meetobjectivesper Sandvik Alachua Integrated Management System.Demonstrate respect and commitment to the IMS System (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & OHSAS 18001) taking accountability for its effectiveness and continual improvement.

Education& Experience

  • Ability to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship

  • Bachelorsdegree, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering

  • At least 10 years of experience working in a technical or related field, preferably with mining equipment experience. 3+yearsmanaging a team, supervising people, coaching, or developing or leading others.

  • In depth experience of RotaryDrills,will be an advantage.

  • Strong technical background with working experience in training,maintenanceor manufacturing of mining equipment. Experienceondrills will be an advantage.

  • Experience in assessing competence.

  • Experience in delivering in-person classroom training.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Strong learning process skills including competence assessment, training needs identification, learning planning, design, delivery,evaluationand use of learning systems to support administration and management of learning.

Must be familiar with asynchronous training, website design, program editing, video technology, Webconferencingand other multimedia.Complex learning theories, assessment, and evaluation methods, as well as a thorough understanding of adult learning styles and ADDIE Modelisnecessary.

Technical Aptitude

  • Technical knowledge and skills in one or more of the following: DC electrical, AC electrical, Hydraulic systems, Mechanical repair, Heavy equipment operation or repair, Software PLC/CanBussystems, along with the correct operation,troubleshootingand adjustment of each.

  • Work with Engineering drawings: pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.

  • Workin accordance withSandvik and Customer EHS, MSHA certificate is acknowledged.

Computer Skills

  • Must have Microsoft Office experience along with other training software programs.

  • Experience with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Adobe FrameMaker, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Basic HTML, Flashprogrammingand Photoshopis preferred.

Training

  • Be able to lead the training of large groups of people.

  • Good communicator and speaking clearly.

  • Able to manage multiple training projects.

  • Skilled in teaching and interacting with subject matter experts and managers to develop training content.

  • Ability to develop a particular skill in others to bring them up to a predetermined standard of work performance.
