The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Marine Engine Technical Service Representative who is passionate about engines, boating, and delivering exceptional customer support. This role puts you at the intersection of engineering excellence and customer success, working directly with dealers, OEMs, boat manufacturers, and end users.
You’ll be hands-on with engines, on the water testing new boats, supporting customers in the field, and helping shape the future of Ilmor Marine service and support. If you enjoy troubleshooting, travel, and working with high-performance powertrains, this role offers variety, impact, and excitement. This is an on-site position based at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Technology Center in New Hudson, Michigan.

  • On-Site, 5 days per week in New Hudson, MI at our brand new Marine Engine Technology Center

What You’ll Do
Customer amp; Technical Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Ilmor Marine customers, including dealers, OEMs, boat manufacturers, and end users
  • Diagnose engine and system issues via phone, email, and on-site visits
  • Review and approve dealer warranty claims, ensuring accurate evaluation of labor, parts, and freight
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, maintaining a high standard of service
  • Identify opportunities to improve support processes and enhance the overall customer experience
  • Track, analyze, and report warranty trends on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Analyze and manage returned parts to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to create service bulletins and technical documentation
  • Contribute to service school training curriculum and technical education programs
  • Support boat manufacturers with engine and drive installations and conduct detailed post-production inspections (PPI), including hardware and software
On-Site amp; Field Support
  • Provide hands-on, time-sensitive troubleshooting at dealerships and OEM manufacturing facilities
  • Support remote-site warranty needs when required
  • Assist with new boat testing, product installations, and on-water performance validation
  • Help dealers and end users with boat operation, setup, and technical guidance
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with internal combustion engines (professional or personal/hobby experience)
  • 2+ years of boating experience
  • 1+ year of customer service experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and occasionally internationally), often on short notice

  • Strong working knowledge of marine powertrains and engine systems
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a positive, customer-focused mindset
