Job description

You're the kind of construction professional who loves helping homeowners make confident decisions.

You enjoy building relationships just as much as you enjoy talking through floor plans, budgets, and construction possibilities. You're comfortable leading conversations, asking thoughtful questions, and helping families navigate one of the biggest investments they'll ever make.

Selling, to you, isn't about pressure—it's about building trust.

You understand that homeowners aren't just buying a renovation, new home, or an addition. They're trusting someone to guide them through a process they've likely never experienced before.

You know when to educate, when to listen, and when to challenge an idea that won't work. If a design exceeds the budget, won't meet code, or creates unnecessary complexity, you're comfortable having that conversation early—with honesty, empathy, and practical solutions.

You don't avoid difficult conversations. You know they're often the conversations that build the most trust.

Others would describe you as confident, approachable, and highly dependable.

You naturally create momentum. You follow through on every commitment, communicate proactively, and never leave clients wondering what comes next.

You enjoy bringing clarity to complicated decisions and helping homeowners move from uncertainty to excitement.

When clients work with you, they feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the entire journey.

What This Role is Really About

This isn't a traditional construction sales role. It also isn't a project management position or an estimating role.

This is a client-facing leadership role inside our residential preconstruction department.

You'll guide homeowners from the moment they sign a preconstruction agreement through design development, budget alignment, contract execution, and ultimately into construction.

Your responsibility isn't simply closing a deal. It's creating an exceptional client experience that results in homeowners choosing CASK as their builder.

The ultimate measure of success is the percentage of preconstruction clients who move into construction, with a target retention rate of 85%.

What You'll Own

You'll own everything the client experiences throughout preconstruction, including:

  • Building trusted relationships from preconstruction agreement through signed construction contract
  • Leading design, budget, and contract alignment meetings
  • Guiding homeowners through budget decisions, financing conversations, and construction tradeoffs
  • Maintaining project momentum through consistent communication and proactive follow-up
  • Presenting construction agreements and collecting deposits
  • Creating a seamless handoff to the Construction Project Manager and Superintendent

What You Won't Own

We've intentionally built specialized roles so everyone can focus on what they do best.

Our estimating team develops budgets, coordinates subcontractor pricing, manages Buildertrend, and handles internal project setup.

Your focus is where you create the greatest value:

  • Building relationships.
  • Creating confidence.
  • Helping homeowners choose to build with CASK.
  • This mirrors the intent of the source document while reinforcing CASK's specialized workflow.

What Success Looks Like

Success isn't measured by how many conversations you have.

It's measured by the quality of those relationships and your ability to help homeowners confidently move forward.

Your performance will be measured through outcomes like:

  • Construction Agreements Executed
  • Preconstruction-to-Construction Conversion Rate (Target: 85%)
  • Client Meeting Timeliness
  • Same-Day Meeting Recap Completion
  • Client Communication & Follow-Up
  • Customer Satisfaction (NPS)
  • Quarterly Bonus tied directly to conversion performance

These align closely with the OKRs and KPIs outlined in your draft.

What You'll Need

  • Residential construction, residential remodeling, custom home building, or design-build experience
  • Confidence discussing construction methods, budgets, and feasibility
  • A proven track record in consultative, relationship-based sales
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Strong organization and CRM/Buildertrend experience
  • The ability to confidently guide clients through difficult decisions while maintaining trust

About Us

CASK Construction is a St. Petersburg-based residential construction company built on craftsmanship, clear communication, and a best-in-class owner experience. We’re growing fast, and we’re intentional about how we grow, with strong systems, high standards, and a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.

Our culture is built for high performers who want ownership, balance, and a team they actually enjoy working with. If you’re currently at a larger company where you’re stretched thin, constantly chasing fires, and missing time with family, this role will feel different. You’ll work locally, lead meaningful projects from start to finish, and be part of a tight-knit team where your work is seen, valued, and directly impacts the success of the company.

We value people who are self-motivated, organized, and collaborative, and who consistently deliver on commitments. You’ll be expected to exceed customer expectations through strong follow-through, maintain accurate budgets and schedules, build realistic plans and adjust proactively, and keep projects moving with drive and persistence. You’ll also be someone who involves others, leverages the team’s expertise, and stays calm, empathetic, and professional with clients, especially during stressful moments.

You'll thrive in this role if you naturally enjoy connecting with people, asking thoughtful questions, and helping others make confident decisions. You're energized by conversations, not transactions. You balance empathy with accountability, stay organized without losing the personal touch, and genuinely enjoy seeing a family move from "We're thinking about it" to "Let's build it."
