Job description

You will be the Technical Publications Writer for the Technical Publications team. Our team is responsible for creating and maintaining mission critical technical documentation that meets Military Specifications, delivering Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), Repair Parts & Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs), and high quality procedural graphics to support system sustainment and readiness.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Technical Publications Writer you will be responsible for translating complex engineering data into clear, usable documentation that enables technicians and maintainers to work efficiently and safely. You'll work side by side with Subject Matter Experts across engineering disciplines, manage content in our configuration controlled system, and ensure every deliverable is on time, on budget, and compliant with MIL STDs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Drafting, updating, and publishing IETMs, DMWRs, and RPSTLs in strict accordance with applicable MIL STDs.
Producing procedural graphics, illustrated parts breakdowns (IPBs), and other visual assets using approved graphics tools.
Reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, and software description documents for technical accuracy and completeness.
Coordinating with SMEs to gather, verify, and validate content; facilitating technical reviews and approvals.
Managing and maintaining documentation within the configured Content Management System (e.g., Windchill).
Assisting senior writers with layout, design, and structuring of Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level Technical Manuals.
Supporting occasional overtime and limited travel to meet project milestones and customer requirements.
