The Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics is responsible for driving sustained revenue growth across assigned accounts and territories through advanced consultative selling, strong scientific fluency, and disciplined account execution within the Spatial Genomics market.
The Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics operates with increased autonomy, and manages more complex, multiโ€‘stakeholder opportunities. This role contributes beyond individual performance by strengthening overall team effectiveness, serving as a peer mentor and trainer for earlyโ€‘stage Account Managers.
The Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics role plays a critical role in reinforcing selling fundamentals, deepening Spatial Genomics product and application knowledge, and promoting CRM and pipeline management best practices, while consistently delivering strong individual revenue results.
The Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics role is remoteโ€‘based and required to maintain residency within the identified ideal location(s) of the region.

Approximately 50% of travel, including overnight, may be required.
How you will make an impact:
As an Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics, you will play a critical role in driving sustained revenue growth across complex, highโ€‘value customer accounts. You will lead advanced, multiโ€‘stakeholder sales engagements, applying deep scientific insight and commercial acumen to translate customer challenges into differentiated, valueโ€‘based Spatial Genomics solutions.
Through close collaboration with Field Application Scientists (FAS), the Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics accelerates opportunity progression, enhances forecast accuracy, and delivers actionable market insights that enable scalable growth and foster a highโ€‘performance sales culture. In addition, the Account Executive II, Spatial Genomics strengthens team effectiveness by serving as a peer mentor and trainer to partner Account Managers, reinforcing technical expertise in Spatial Genomics and broader market understanding.
The ideal candidate will reside within the NYC / Northern New Jersey area.
What will you do:
  • Delivers consistent revenue growth for Spatial Genomics products, through disciplined territory planning and execution.
  • Develops and executes account strategies and tactical sales plans using market insights, pipeline analytics, and CRM data.
  • Deliver clear, highโ€‘impact presentations to scientific, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Prospects, qualifies, and closes complex, strategic Spatial Genomics projects using consultative, solutionโ€‘based selling.
  • Lead opportunities endโ€‘toโ€‘endโ€”from discovery through executionโ€”in close partnership with Account Managers, and Field Application Scientist (FAS) teams.
  • Leverages, maintains, and actively cultivates KOL relationships to identify, influence, and advance highโ€‘value Spatial Genomics initiatives.
  • Provides direction and support to the Field Application Scientist (FAS) team, ensuring effective product support for highโ€‘value customers and following up on FAS activities to confirm successful outcomes and deliver critical feedback to the FAS team.
  • Applies deep RNA-seq and Spatial Biology technical expertise to position differentiated solutions to customers.
  • Manages the full sales cycle with increasing deal complexity, including multiโ€‘stakeholder environments and crossโ€‘functional coordination.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity updates, and sales forecasts.
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of the companyโ€™s Spatial Genomics product portfolio, applications, and the life science marketplace; effectively translates technical concepts into customerโ€‘relevant value propositions.
  • Conducts structured training and coaching sessions for Account Managers, focusing on competitive selling advantages and the benefits of Takara Spatial Genomics solutions.
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
How will you get here?
  • BS/MS/PhD in a lifeโ€‘science discipline.
  • 7+ years of successful lifeโ€‘science sales experience with a strong focus on NGS technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales objectives in complex selling environments.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology, genomics, and related workflows; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven capability to coach, train, and influence peers.
  • Strong organizational skills with proficiency in CRM systems and territory management tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned region.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, satisfactory driving record, and automobile insurance required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position, expected to be located in the New York City/Northern New Jersey area, is $140,000 - $155,000 USD.
