Job Description

The project manager is a member of the Transformation team and will be assigned to a QWA level priority based on expertise, bandwidth and scope of project. The PM on a project is accountable to and works in conjunction with the Exec Sponsor and, where appropriate, partners with the functional leader to define scope, articulate deliverables as outlined in Consulting PM project plan. The PM is the primary owner of the project plan for all stated deliverables.  The PM will identify and work closely with work stream leads to set the timeline and deliverables and cadence of touchpoints.  The PM determines the tasks that must be completed in conjunction with workstream leaders, manages overall project plan execution, and is responsible through recommendation.

The project manager may be required, in conjunction with other staff, to perform change management and business process discovery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages small to medium-sized projects under a larger program of work, or standalone
  • Clarifies project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and executive stakeholders.
  • Clarifies project success criteria and disseminates them to stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Leads the development and management of the project work plan, including work sequencing, work breakdown structure, work delivery schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Manages the project team and deliverables and advises senior leadership of project status, recommendations, and how and when to course correct. 
  • Adheres to Product Development Life Cycle and in some cases a version of the Agile methodology for systems development
  • Adheres to methods, procedures and quality objectives including metrics for assessing progress and provides recommendations on process improvements.
  • Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule.
  • Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Communicates risks, needs, and status to stakeholders.
  • Serves as a consultant to business partners and clients on effective project management practices and tools
  • Knowledge of change management principals, and ability to plan and execute change management in collaboration with our clients
Qualifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines
  • Ability to develop consensus amongst diverse groups
  • Capability to manage relationships with and advise clients at Sr. Manager level or below
  • Strong planning experience and project management certification preferred
  • Domain expertise within human capital management required
  • Understanding of consulting methodologies i.e. design thinking methodology experience preferred
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of organizational change management principles
  • Proven track record of managing projects; Awareness of of effective application of project management methodologies (desired)
  • 4+ years project management experience or equivalent business management experience (desired)
