Technical Project Manager

Summary: The Technical Project Manager is a member of a dynamic, customer facing team whose mission is to deliver state of the art marine solutions for technical, spare part and workshop service.  This role is responsible for the complete project lifecycle, from initiation to closing, ensuring all aspects of project deliverables are met in compliance with customer specifications and contractual agreements in place.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company safety and compliance policies and ensure all other project managers in the department abide by these policies as well
  • Analyze and clarify governmental customer tender documents and specifications
  • Lead and execute the complete bidding process for complex turnkey projects for Marine & Power products
  • Develop cost calculations for the full scope of supply and services, including contribution margins, in accordance with Everllence guidelines
  • Successfully manage projects to deliver the contractual scope of supply on time, within budget, and in compliance with Everllence quality standards and internal processes, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Perform comprehensive risk management
  • Conduct active project controlling in close cooperation with the team leader
  • Drive both top-line (revenue) and bottom-line (profitability) growth for assigned projects
  • Collaborate with technical departments within the responsible European Product Centers (PCs)
  • Manage project and contract documentation in accordance with Documentation Management requirements
  • Coordinates project procurement with required PCs, IGCs and external vendors
  • Coordinate with project-related and involved IGC teams
  • Oversee project installations and coordinate activities with Field Service Managers
  • Manage receivables for assigned customers
  • Provide superior customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Maintain willingness to work a flexible schedule as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably Mechanical Engineering.

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in complex projects, preferably involving reciprocating engines

Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications:  None.

Other skills:

  • Fundamental knowledge of marine power applications, and in large diesel engines.
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and legal issues.
  • Understanding of government contracting processes.
  • Familiarity with project management systems.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
  • Ability to write official reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to adopt and live up to the company’s Core Values.

Physical Requirements:

  • The majority of the time this position requires sitting in one place for several hours working with a personal computer.
  • Domestic travel may be required to customer’s facilities and vessels.
