What is a technical programs manager?

Technical Programs Managers (TPMs) are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating complex technical projects and programs within an organization. They bridge the gap between engineering teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals. TPMs manage project timelines, resources, and risks while facilitating communication across teams. Their role often involves strategic planning, technical problem-solving, and driving cross-functional collaboration.

How does a technical programs manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success?

Technical Programs Managers frequently work with engineering, product, design, and operations teams to align project goals and timelines. They facilitate clear communication, manage dependencies, and resolve roadblocks by organizing regular check-ins and status updates.
