Purpose:

As the Director, Technical Programs, you will oversee the implementation, technical subject matter experts and project management for the Next Generation 9-1-1 program. This includes representing the program in support of the sales, planning, deployment, and maintenance of services. You will be a part of organizational updates to technical issues and resolution. You will provide leadership and make decisions to move projects related to the program forward. You will be a point of escalation which will require that you propose solutions to technical constraints using technical expertise and experience. You will be responsible for defining the business line processes, policies and workflow. You will be expected to maintain a number of customer relations as well as represent Comtech at in-person meetings. As a manager, you will work to develop and grow the members of the team. You will set priorities and be a support backstop when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Input into future business strategies and products.
  • Help define and maintain Comtech’s present and future vision for NG product line.
  • Escalation for customer issues regarding the support and implementation of our services
  • Implementation planning and oversight.
  • Use existing tools to manage workflow and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Involvement in the RFP and SOW processes.
  • Work with the Comtech product team to identify and implement product innovations based on market trends.
  • Support development of NENA standards and ensure Comtech’s adherence.
  • Incremental improvement of our product delivery, dispatch, and management.
  • Facilitate risk mitigation at the program level.
  • Produce executive level status updates.
  • Project oversight and management of strategic customer relationships.
  • Assist in hiring and orienting employees, developing personal growth opportunities by coaching and counseling.
  • Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision.
  • Ensures adherence to Comtech policies, standards, processes, procedures and guidelines for all team supports.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate level knowledge with the Microsoft Office tools, Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Previous management experience
  • Working knowledge of Next Generation 911 solutions, networking and call handling services.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four or more years in Technical Program Management or E911 segment of telecommunications is equivalent
