Title and Summary

Principal Technical Program ManagementThe AI&DPE Program includes Decision Management Platform (DMP), BEARs, and AI Decisioning Foundations. This role will lead programs and initiatives supporting an internal product suite that enables intelligent decisions for market-facing products. The platform delivers industry-leading capabilities by applying complex business logic across the payment journey, leveraging supercomputing, AI technologies, streaming data platforms, high-speed in-memory caching, APIs, and UIs to enable real-time, scalable decisioning.
The Principal, Technical Program Manager will primarily own and drive DMP's large-scale infrastructure initiatives working closely with our internal and external program's spanning multiple Mastercard business units (Security Solutions, Product & Engineering, Data & Services, Mastercard Technology), ensuring dependencies are aligned, risks are actively managed, and delivery outcomes are achieved with high quality and predictability. This role will operate across engineering, architecture, and operations teams, ensuring platforms are scalable, resilient, and release-ready.
They will play a key role in implementing strategies to optimize delivery efficiency, execution rigor, and operational readiness. While maintaining a primary focus on end-to-end infrastructure delivery (procurement, build, integration, and release), this role will flex across PMO governance, release coordination, and customer success initiatives, adapting to evolving program and business needs.

Role: The Principal, Technical Program Manager (TPM) will drive successful program outcomes by:
Leading complex, cross-functional infrastructure and network programs from initiation through delivery across multiple platforms and services
Driving end-to-end roadmap execution, including procurement, implementation, integration, and release readiness of infrastructure solutions
Coordinating engineering, architecture, and operations teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and production-ready systems
Aligning and managing dependencies across teams, ensuring gaps are identified and resolved and delivery remains on track
Driving execution across Agile delivery trains and release cycles, including release coordination and readiness across multiple systems
Operating across PMO processes and governance frameworks, providing structured status, risk visibility, and decision support to leadership
Supporting customer success and business initiatives, ensuring infrastructure delivery aligns with business value and adoption goals
Leveraging a deep understanding of infrastructure, platform architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise capabilities to drive technical program execution
Inspecting delivery plans, execution metrics, and program health using technical depth and business acumen to assess risks and raise the delivery bar
Driving a data-driven and continuous improvement culture, using KPIs and program metrics to improve delivery speed, quality, and cost efficiency
Managing risks, issues, and escalations with clear impact, trade-offs, and resolution paths
Translating ambiguous business and technical requirements into clear execution strategies and actionable plans
Building and cultivating strong internal stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment, engagement, and successful program outcomes
Providing strategic program and technical leadership, influencing priorities and decisions across teams without direct authority

About You:
Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure, network, or platform programs with complex technical stacks
Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments driving outcomes across multiple teams and organizations
Strong technical depth across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and system integration
Expert in Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies, including managing multiple delivery trains and release cycles simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to build consensus and resolve complex, cross-functional challenges across leadership levels
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage engineering, product, operations, and executive audiences
Proven track record of improving program execution by driving delivery rigor, optimizing processes, and scaling best practices
Experience leading or mentoring teams, with a focus on raising the bar on performance, technical depth, and program execution outcomes

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $152,000 - $258,000 USD
