Labcorp is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our team in Durham, NC.
Location: Durham, NC.
Applicants who live within 35 miles of Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in office days per week supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.
Work Authorization: This position requires permanent authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship (including H-1B, OPT/CPT, EAD, or other temporary work authorization) is not available.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead one or more cross-functional development teams operating within a hybrid SDLC / AI-DLC delivery model.
  • Facilitate meetings and decision-making throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, including discovery, experimentation, model iteration, and delivery.
  • Help guide the team's transition from a standard SDLC approach to AI-DLC practices, including iterative discovery and continuous learning cycles.
  • Coordinate release and solution management activities with Project Managers.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to team members and leadership.
  • Coordinate and oversee Agile ceremonies and artifacts, evolving them as needed to support AI-driven development workflows.
  • Engage in product design and analysis of technical and AI-driven requirements, including collaboration with engineering and data science teams.
  • Oversee product documentation and ensure artifacts are structured and maintained to support AI-enabled development and traceability.
  • Promote modern development practices, including Agile principles and emerging AI-DLC approaches.
  • Collaborate with management, business users, developers, quality assurance teams, and data scientists.
  • Conduct complex impact analysis across systems, data, and workflows.
  • Contribute innovative and creative approaches to applying AI to improve product delivery and business outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma with 9 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting information technology product or project development teams; or Associate degree with 7 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting information technology product or project development teams; or Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting information technology product or project development teams.
  • 3 or more years of experience working within software development lifecycle (SDLC) frameworks, including Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks.
  • 3 or more years of experience managing delivery activities utilizing Jira, Azure DevOps (TFS), or equivalent tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree with 3 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting information technology product or project development teams.
  • 1 or more years experience with AI-enabled development lifecycle (AI-DLC) concepts.
  • 1 or more years experience adapting delivery tools and processes to support evolving delivery models, including AI-DLC.
  • 1 or more years experience working in environments transitioning from traditional SDLC methodologies to emerging AI-enabled delivery models.

About the Role
Corporate IT is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to support the next generation of AI-enabled product development and enterprise AI platforms. This role is designed for Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Scrum leaders who can bridge traditional software delivery practices with emerging AI-driven development lifecycles, data science workflows, and generative AI capabilities.
The Technical Product Owner will guide development teams while contributing to enterprise standards for AI-enabled product delivery and AI-driven development lifecycle practices. The role partners closely with clinicians, medical experts, laboratorians, customers, developers, QA engineers, and data science teams to deliver enhanced clinical reporting capabilities, including patient-specific interpretations that support personalized healthcare and improved clinical decision-making. The position requires collaboration across complex business and technical environments to deliver scalable, repeatable solutions that support Labcorp's mission of helping people live longer and healthier lives.
