Job description

Help build the operational foundation behind every INDYCAR on FOX broadcast.

Penske Entertainment is seeking a Technical Manager to join IMS Productions in Indianapolis. This position plays an important role in planning and coordinating the technical, operational, and logistical needs that support INDYCAR broadcasts at venues throughout the season.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Broadcast Operations, the Technical Manager works closely with INDYCAR, FOX Sports, broadcast crews, racetrack personnel, and outside vendors to ensure each event is properly planned, equipped, and ready for production. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who understands live sports broadcasting and thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Creating camera lists and maps for each INDYCAR on FOX broadcast.
  • Developing TV compound layouts for each INDYCAR venue.
  • Serving as a liaison between INDYCAR and FOX Sports to coordinate broadcast needs.
  • Obtaining vendor quotes and coordinating rental equipment and services.
  • Submitting purchase-order requests before rental agreements are finalized.
  • Coordinating the receipt and placement of heavy equipment at racetracks.
  • Requesting broadcast credentials and parking permits for production personnel.
  • Coordinating catering orders for broadcast teams.
  • Assisting with day-to-day on-site broadcast operations at each venue.
  • Supervising seasonal crew members assigned to INDYCAR broadcasts.
  • Helping plan, organize, prioritize, and oversee broadcast activities.

This position is based in Indianapolis and requires travel to all INDYCAR-sanctioned events, along with other client events as needed. Flexibility is essential due to the travel schedule and event-driven nature of the business.
