Description

National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide. National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 747-400, 777, and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.


Job Title: Technical Operation Trainer 

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Technical Operations Training

Reports To: Manager of Technical Operations Training

FLSA Status: Exempt


Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the Company's Safety Management System (SMS), as required
  • Completes Initial Level 1 and Level 2 SMS Training and maintains currency as outlined in the SMS Manual, Chapter 4
  • Facilitates training to ensure that all Maintenance personnel (including maintenance providers and inspection personnel) are fully trained and competent to perform their duties
  • Revises and develops Maintenance Training Courses in accordance with course outlines in the National Airlines Training program
  • Develops training Aids and other Course Materials enhancing the training modules in the National Airlines Training Program
  • Develops, maintains, and updates the Maintenance Training Learning Management System (LMS) Courseware and electronic documentation for initial and recurrent training requirements
  • Ensures training documentation and currency tracking of Maintenance personnel are current and updated through Auditing measures
  • Schedules the required Ground Training events contained in the National Airlines Approved Training Programs, making sure of training facilities and instructor availability
  • Notification of the DM and DQC of any employee lapse in currency for failing to complete a required training event as scheduled
  • Develops procedures, controls, process measurement, and interface to track training effectiveness and processes of the National Airlines Training Program
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Unrestricted FAA license with airplane category and multiengine class ratings.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, computer/presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to pass ten (10) years background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Skills, Competencies & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Regular attendance and/or punctuality is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including National's confidential reporting systems.

Travel Requirements: 0-25%.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
  • Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
