WisEngineering, LLC is currently interviewing candidates for an immediate or near-term position with our company in support of ongoing Department of Defense programs at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. The successful candidate will be a direct (W2) employee of WisEngineering. Candidates with current or previous work experience at Picatinny Arsenal or US Army facilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Position Details
  • Job Title: Drafter/Assistant Project Manager

  • Location: On-Site at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ

  • Start Date: 4 to 6 weeks or sooner

  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen

  • Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (Active Secret preferred but not required)

  • Salary: TBD based on experience

  • Interview Process: Multiple interviews (virtual and in-person), extensive background checks, and verification of certifications

  • Relocation Assistance: Limited (Local candidates preferred)

Core Mission

The incumbent serves primarily as a Technical Drafter responsible for the creation, modification, and comprehensive management of architectural and engineering design packages, while providing ancillary project management support for government facilities support initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technical Drafting: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop precise construction drawings, site plans, and engineering schematics. Serve as the core technical drafting authority for architectural and engineering design packages.

  • Facility Data Stewardship: Conduct active investigations, scanning, and meticulous maintenance of historical drawing files and physical blueprints. Verify existing site conditions and ensure long-term digital preservation of critical facility records.

  • Ancillary Project Management: Assist Government Project Managers and facilities management personnel with day-to-day project operations in a secondary, supporting capacity.

  • Project Coordination: Support administrative project tasks by tracking project schedules, processing Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing technical submittals, and maintaining centralized project files.

  • Operational Execution: Ensure highly accurate facility documentation and the smooth execution of project tasks by leading all drafting and archive management efforts while providing reliable project coordination support.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • CAD Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to generate precise construction drawings, architectural plans, and engineering schematics.

  • Archive & Document Management: Experience with document control, including investigating, scanning, indexing, and maintaining historical drawing files, physical blueprints, and digital records.

  • Facilities & Construction Support: Prior experience working within government facilities initiatives or construction support projects is highly desirable.

  • Project Coordination: Familiarity with standard project management tracking, including managing project schedules, processing Requests for Information (RFIs), and reviewing technical submittals.

  • Military/Government Environment: Previous experience supporting Government Project Managers or working on-site at Picatinny Arsenal or other US Army facilities is a strong plus.
