Job description

We are partnering with a leading provider of heat transfer solutions along the Gulf Coast Region, recently acquired by a major group specializing in custom-engineered and fabricated solutions for liquids and gas processing, storage, transfer, and utilization across energy, petrochemical, specialty chemical, renewables, biofuels, and industrial process industries.

We're seeking a Mechanical Designer (Drafter) to join their Heat Transfer Division, focused on producing accurate fabrication and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD 2D and, when required, 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.


What You'll Do

  • Produce detailed 2D drawings and drafting documentation with accuracy, clarity, and adherence to deadlines
  • Use AutoCAD to prepare fabrication, layout, and mechanical drawings
  • Utilize 3D modeling tools (Inventor or SolidWorks) when required for assemblies or design visualization
  • Follow customer requirements, engineering specifications, and internal drafting standards
  • Maintain and organize drawings using data/document management software
  • Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing personnel to address design or fabrication issues
  • Assist in improving drawing standards, templates, and drafting efficiency within the team


What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or completion of a technical drafting program
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2D for mechanical or fabrication drawings
  • Previous drafting experience in equipment, structural, or mechanical design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow customer specifications and technical documents

Preferred:

  • Experience using SolidWorks or Inventor (3D modeling)
  • Familiarity with document or data management software
  • Experience with heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or related equipment
  • Basic understanding of API 660, API 663, or ASME Section VIII (a plus, not required)
