Our Engineering team works closely with Production, Quality, and Sales to deliver industry-leading trailer designs.

Internship Purpose:
The Drafting Intern will support the Engineering department by assisting with CAD drafting, documentation, and design-related tasks for existing and new trailer products. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment while developing technical drafting skills and an understanding of production processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Design Engineers with producing accurate and clear engineering drawings for existing and new products

  • Update and revise CAD drawings based on engineering markups and production feedback

  • Support the creation and maintenance of bills of material (BOMs) under supervision

  • Assist with basic layout drawings and detail drawings using the company CAD system

  • Help organize and maintain engineering documentation and drawing files

  • Observe and learn how engineering designs are implemented on the production floor

  • Participate in engineering and production meetings as appropriate

  • Support special engineering projects and other duties as assigned

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Drafting & Design Technology

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field

  • Basic working knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works required)

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Prior internship, co-op, or technical coursework experience is a plus, but not required

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Occasionally pulling and pushing up to 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Repeated reaching overhead

  • Occasionally kneeling, stooping, bending, and turning at the waist

  • Occasionally climbing ladders above 2 ft.

  • Ability to wear required PPE when in production areas (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, etc.)

Required Work Hours and Schedule:

  • Summer 2026 (June 1st through July 31)

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
