Position Summary
The Technical Director serves as a leader of the soccer development pathway within Sporting Jax Soccer Academy and is responsible for implementing, and overseeing the Club's overall technical vision, player development philosophy, coaching standards, and competitive structure.
This role ensures alignment across all programs within the organization, while fostering a positive, player-centered environment that supports long-term athlete development.
The Technical Director works collaboratively with Club leadership, coaches, staff, players, and families to ensure the Academy delivers a consistent, high-quality soccer experience that reflects the mission, culture, and values of Sporting Jax Soccer Academy.
Primary Responsibilities
Club Technical Leadership
  • Maintain the Club's overall technical philosophy and style of play.
  • Ensure consistency of player development methodology across all age groups and programs.
  • Create and implement long-term player development models aligned with modern soccer best practices.
  • Oversee curriculum development for all Academy programs.
  • Establish training standards, session expectations, and coaching benchmarks.
  • Lead technical planning for seasonal and annual development objectives.
Coaching Oversight & Development
  • Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain qualified coaching staff.
  • Conduct regular coach evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development.
  • Organize coaching education sessions, clinics, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Support coaches with session planning, periodization, and player management strategies.
  • Ensure all coaches uphold Club standards, professionalism, and player-first values.
  • Assist coaches in obtaining and advancing coaching licenses and certifications.

Required
  • Minimum USSF "C" License (or equivalent internationally recognized license).
  • Significant coaching and player development experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working within youth soccer club environments.
  • Ability to mentor and manage coaching staff effectively.
  • Passion for youth development and building positive soccer culture.
Preferred
  • USSF "B" License or higher.
  • Director of Coaching or Technical Director experience.
  • Experience with curriculum development and coach education.
  • Familiarity with modern player development frameworks and long-term athlete development models.
