Position Summary

The Technical Assistant II will manage the processing of pole attachment requests for CATV/Telephone/Telecom/Governmental entities to attach, remove, or adjust to Duke Energy poles in all the Duke Energy Florida territory. Technical Assistant II will work closely with the Joint Use Engineering Contractors and Duke Engineering to ensure the requests are being completed accurately and within the FCC timelines. This position requires intense data entry into various applications such as Maximo, PeopleSoft, Spida, and ARMS. Candidates should have the ability to work accurately and independently and have good computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates communication with other utilities, engineering, and contractors to complete tasks.

  • Maintains and updates data in various application in accordance with established work procedures.

  • Utilizes and maintains software systems Maximo, PeopleSoft, ARMS, ARGUS and Spida.

  • Accurately create invoices for Make Ready/Engineering Charges/Pole Rent in Maximo or ARMS.

  • Run monthly reports for management.

  • Process contractor invoices for payment.

  • Complete month end close, submit journal entries and account reconciliations monthly

  • Develops and/or reviews selected correspondence, reports, invoices, schedules, and/or technical documentation.

  • Reviews work produced by self and others to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Makes appropriate modifications and recommendations as necessary.

  • Perform routine and detail-oriented tasks in a fast-paced, results driven environment.

  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.

  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.

  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Associates degree

  • In lieu of Associates degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 2 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Basic proficiency in database applications (e.g. Maximo, Fusion, ProjectWise, etc.)

  • Experience in the utility industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a 60-minute commute to their designated Duke Energy facility.

  • This position has a residency requirement. You must reside within a 60-minute radius of the designated Duke Energy facility. You have 30 days to relocate at your own expense.
