Job description

Overview:

The Technical Applications Engineer will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Engineering in the development of new machining processes through prototyping phases. For existing product platforms, a well-organized approach will be employed to optimize process capabilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead Operations in performance improvement projects, working together to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and cost requirements (Design of experiment, etc.)
  • Design and prepare concept drawings for tooling, fixtures, and automation in support of continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with and mentor Level 4 machinist DMAIC projects
  • Prepare reports for Management Review related to continuous improvement activities
  • Work with internal cross functional teams to resolve Quality related issues.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Quality related fields with 3 years of relevant industrial experience (Machining, Injection Molding, Metal fabrication stampings, plating) with an emphasis on automotive and/or aerospace applications

Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Quality related fields with 1 year of relevant working experience (Machining, Injection Molding, Metal fabrication stampings, plating) with an emphasis on automotive and/or aerospace applications

Skills/Knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple continuous improvement projects in a well-organized manner
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control and Statistical Techniques
  • Experience in manufacturing of components (i.e. ; Machining, Injection Molding, Metal fabrication stampings, plating)
  • Professional communication skills
  • Working Knowledge of GD&T
  • Working knowledge of machining inspection practices
  • Knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma Techniques
  • Power-user of Minitab or comparable statistical software


Compensation: $73,000.00 - $90,000.00 annual base salary based experience
