Job Title: Technical Project Manager Job Category: Project and Program Management Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: Local * * * The Opportunity: The Technical Engineering Program Support Contractor will provide engineering and technical support to inform and support projects across the entire Electro-Optic Technology Division, specifically for Electro-Optic Infrared Systems (EOIR). This role involves serving as a technical and program/project specialist to support the development, evaluation, modification and operations of EOIR systems. Responsibilities: Technical Analysis and Evaluation: * Perform technical analysis and evaluations to assist Chief Engineers, Quality personnel, and Management with Technical Project and Risk documentation preparations for formal reviews to include action tracking and metric development and tracking.
* Perform trade studies and technical analysis to make recommendations for procurement of items'.
* Assist in the finalization of requirements and other relevant technical documents related to division programs. This includes completing draft nomination packages for external and internal awards for these efforts. Documentation and Standardization: * Review technical documents and recommend improvements to foster standardizations of document types, document format and data file naming to include business operational processes. This includes but is not limited to formal technical letters, reports, presentations, official correspondence, and forms.
* Assist and inform with writing procedures, work instructions and design practices criteria to standardize Electro-Optic Technology work products across the division, such as but not limited to EOIR highlights, employee spotlights for their technical efforts as Employee of the Month nominations, employee Entrance and Exit processes.
* Investigate issues pertaining to technical changes to processes and policies across the division to include support of Root Cause Analyses and problem-solving efforts. Test and Acquisition Support: * Analyze technical documentation in support of the division's Management/Quality System Plan.
* Support the EOIR division with technical services, as required. On-Site Support: * Be present on-site at NSWC Crane to support the review of collateral information and in-person technical exchanges with engineers, test, or logistics personnel. Qualifications: Required: * 5+ years' experience working with lab management of electronic systems.
* Experience working with technical labs and business operations management.
* Leadership and management of technical scope, schedule, deliverables, development efforts, and cross-functional team coordination.
* Excellent writing and communication skills pertaining to business planning and project development.
* Understanding of EO business operating procedures and requirements.
* Knowledge of the government communities that work in and with EO. Location: On-site is required with flexible work schedule during government staffed lab hours.
