Description

We are seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven initiatives across state healthcare programs, including Medicaid and Human Services. This role partners with business and technical teams to analyze data, ensure data quality, and deliver actionable insights that support critical program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance analytic reports and dashboards using Cognos and Tableau.
  • Build ad hoc reports and perform data analysis based on evolving client needs and business questions.
  • Develop complex reports, including sub-reports, visual reports, and well-formatted deliverables that meet user requirements and present data in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain business analytics models, including relational and DMR models, packages, and reporting structures used for report development.
  • Work with business users and technical teams to mock up reports and dashboards, refine requirements, and identify the most effective way to present data to customers.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, managers, and other team members to design and deliver customer-specific reporting solutions.
  • Recommend additional insights, report enhancements, and data improvements based on client needs and analysis findings.
  • Support the operational stability of the reporting environment by monitoring, auditing, validating, and troubleshooting reporting objects to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery.
  • Validate report results against data warehouse sources throughout the development process to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Support testing activities, including UAT, validation cycles, and production readiness reviews.
  • Communicate findings, report outputs, and analytical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work within a project team environment, taking direction from project managers and technical leaders while managing assigned work to completion.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of production-level experience working with data and business intelligence tools, including IBM Cognos Analytics and Tableau. Experience working with Cognos Cubes, including cube-based reporting and analysis.
  • 2+ years of data warehouse analysis experience, including the ability to read data flow diagrams and conceptual and physical data models.
  • 4+ years of experience writing SQL for reporting, analysis, and report customization.
  • 4+ years of experience with Medicaid, healthcare, or government programs.
  • 4+ years of experience working in Agile environments or client-facing roles.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with complex data sets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Python, including Pandas or similar libraries, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of data cleaning, formatting, and transformation techniques.
  • Understanding of basic statistics and analytical problem-solving methods.
