Functional Job Title : Teamsters - Multiple Opportunities
Teamsters at LANL provide essential transportation and logistics support, including operating vehicles to transport materials and hazardous materials across the laboratory site, maintaining roads and grounds, and performing facility support duties such as snow removal.
What You Will Do
We are seeking qualified CDL professionals for multiple Teamster opportunities across the Laboratory. Depending on your experience and assignment, you may support one of the following operational areas:
Roads & Grounds
Transport all manner of heavy equipment (e.g., dozers, cranes, front end loaders, etc.). Transport materials and employees to job site daily. Work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to contribute to snow removal.
Transit
The LANL Transit Shuttle Driver safely transports employees, visitors, and contractors throughout Los Alamos National Laboratory facilities through three service types: fixed-route service along established schedules and stops, on-demand point-to-point transportation as operational needs arise, and charter service for special events, meetings, training activities, and group transportation. Drivers must operate vehicles safely and professionally, assist passengers with boarding and belongings, maintain excellent customer service, communicate effectively with a diverse population, and exercise sound judgment in routine and challenging situations while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, vehicle inspections, operational procedures, and service schedules
Warehouse (SM30)
Load, secure, transport small/ large freight safely daily. Strong communication skills, computer skills, forklift skills, team player, must be highly organized, warehouse experience.
Tire Shop
Tire Technician H.E. Tire Shop, 5 Years hands-on Commercial Tire Repair, and extensive knowledge of automotive, truck and heavy equipment tire application, repair and mounting techniques.
Warehouse (TA60)
Coordinate deliveries, manage warehouse operations, and communicate with a diverse customer base across the Laboratory. This role requires strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to professionally navigate a variety of workplace situations.
Utilities
Transport all manner of heavy equipment (e.g., bulldozers, cranes, front-end loaders, etc.). Transport materials and employees to jobsite daily. Work all types of weather conditions. Contribute to snow removal. High school diploma is listed under Education/Experience.
Maintenance Recycling Facility (MRF)
Contribute to snow removal. Recycling which includes picking up all recyclables from buildings throughout the lab in box trucks - other duties are driving pack masters picking up trash/cardboard dumpsters delivering to transfer station, picking up /delivering dumpsters where needed, paper shredding.
Hazmat Certified Drivers
Transport materials to job sites. Work in all types of weather conditions. Will contribute to snow removal as needed. Will operate hazardous material tanker trailer, fuel truck, and water truck and any other Hazmat required functions as needed. Hazmat may support multiple areas.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Ability to participate in the Department of Transportation (DOT) program
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Must join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local Union No. 492 upon selection
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technology

Training/Certifications: Depending on the position, the following endorsements may be required:
  • Hazardous Materials (HME)
  • Passenger (P)

Education/Experience: High School diploma.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DOE Q Clearance

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q Clearance.
