What is an ABF Freight CDL driver?

An ABF Freight CDL driver is a professional truck driver employed by ABF Freight, a leading less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier in the United States. These drivers hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and are responsible for transporting freight between terminals and customer locations, ensuring safe and timely delivery. ABF Freight CDL drivers may operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, and often perform duties such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo. The job typically requires adherence to federal and state transportation regulations as well as company policies.

How does team collaboration typically work for ABF Freight CDL drivers?

At ABF Freight, CDL drivers often work closely with dispatchers, dock workers, and fellow drivers to ensure timely and safe freight delivery. While much of the driving is done independently, drivers regularly communicate with team members to coordinate pick-ups, handle load documentation, and address route changes or challenges. This collaborative environment helps streamline operations and supports a strong safety culture, making it essential for drivers to be good communicators and team players.
