The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employee(s) assigned to this job.
JOB SUMMARY:

To maintain company facilities in a fully operational condition including maintaining a safe and accessible environment for employees and customers.

*Testing is required for this role ; this position is covered under the Teamster General Maintenance Agreement*

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Trouble shooting electrical systems
  • Install, remove, and repair plumbing systems
  • Service, repair and replace equipment
  • Service of automatic door systems
  • Basic carpentry maintenance and repairs
  • Flooring installations, removal, and repair
  • Lock and finish hardware repairs
  • Light emergency roof, ceiling, and parking lot repairs
  • Must be available 24 hours for emergencies and available for shift work
  • Exhibit a high standard of personal and professional ethics, integrity, and fairness
  • Participation in and completion of on-going safety training, equipment training and certifications as relating to job experience: Teach & Train Tech I
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency when servicing company needs
  • Attendance at trade group meetings as authorized by company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • General Maintenance Technician II is expected to be able to perform all the duties of General Maintenance Technician I
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • AA degree, WAFC, Trade School or equivalent job experience
  • Five (5) years of experience or equivalent education and training in facilities maintenance, and electrical systems, with emphasis on the maintenance of supermarket equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen equipment, for example: Fryers, Ovens, Meat Saws, Grinders, Slicers, etc.
  • Knowledge of how to use an electrical meter
  • Experience inspecting the commercial kitchen equipment and their related components to ensure safe operation
  • Experience and knowledge of Switches, Relays, Contactors, Capacitors, Solenoids, and Transformers
  • Able to read equipment schematics
  • Experience with full-service commercial kitchen equipment repair department
  • Specialization in commercial cooking, and meat processing equipment along with building maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of constructions trades; carpentry, plumbing, flooring and concrete
  • Valid California Driver License with clear driving record
  • CPR Certificate of Completion within 90 days
  • Certified in Ammonia Awareness within 90 days
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
