Job description

A #remote contractor-position for a Paralegal II is open at CSAA Insurance Group! 

CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, offers automobile, homeowners and other personal lines of insurance to AAA Members through AAA clubs in 23 states and the District of Columbia.

Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities 

  • Legal file review and initial drafting of legal documents, such as discovery responses, trial documents, jury instructions, motions and other pleadings.
  • Responsible for calculating statutory deadlines and completing assignments in compliance with same.
  • Assignments may be more complex and caseload greater than that of a Paralegal I.
  • Legal research via electronic resources (WestLaw) and in law libraries on variety of legal issues involving civil procedure, personal injury, and subrogation, of higher complexity and importance.
  • Performs complex fact-finding investigations and submits findings with a comprehensive legal analysis to staff attorneys based on investigation.
  • Conducts insured client interviews for discovery purposes.
  • Assists attorney with preparation of evidence and works with retained experts for trial, arbitration, and mediation readiness.
  • Responsible for administrative matters such as law library updates, follow-up on subpoenas, notarizing documents.
  • Responsible for compliance with mandatory continuing legal education rules.

The candidate should have a minimum of five years of New Jersey paralegal experience. Experience working with a legal management system is preferred. The law offices operate in a paper‑lite environment, with all documents stored in the document management system, and TeamConnect is used for case management.
