About This Role

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, while ensuring the well-being and supervision of all children in the classroom. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.


What You'll Do
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
  • Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
  • Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
  • Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to Pass a Background Check
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
  • Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
