Job description

Trump Winery is seeking an experienced, dynamic Tasting Room Manager to lead our guest experience and oversee all winery tasting room operations at Virginia’s largest vineyard. This role is ideal for a results-driven hospitality professional who excels at team leadership, service excellence, and revenue growth. As the Tasting Room Manager, you will shape the guest journey, develop a high-performing team, and drive key metrics including guest traffic, wine club enrollments, and tasting room revenue. This full-time position requires weekend and holiday availability and offers competitive pay, growth opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package

Title: Tasting Room Manager

Location: Trump Winery Tasting Room - 20 minutes south of Downtown Charlottesville

Wage: $70,000 - $80,000
Essential Duties:

  • Oversee all day-to-day tasting room operations, including wine service, retail, and food & beverage execution.
  • Ensure seamless opening and closing procedures, accurate inventory management, and adherence to facility standards.
  • Maintain a polished, welcoming, and high-performing environment across all guest-facing areas.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and lead a team of Tasting Room Associates by building a culture rooted in accountability, professionalism, and elevated hospitality.
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Lead by example on the floor during peak service periods to support staff and ensure service excellence.
  • Champion a luxury hospitality standard with a focus on personalization, warmth, and attention to detail.
  • Ensure staff maintain strong product knowledge in wine, winemaking, and the Trump Winery brand story.
  • Manage labor, inventory, and operating expenses to achieve financial goals.
  • Analyze performance trends and adjust strategies to improve profitability, efficiency, and guest engagement
  • Assist Director of Hospitality, Wine Club Manager, Sales and Marketing Director and other members of the leadership team with consumer/hospitality outreach efforts; support trade relations effort by hosting current and prospective resellers including sommeliers, brokers, distributor personnel and restaurant or retail store staff
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of promotional programs and winery events to grow winery traffic and consumer sales.


Requirements:

  • BA or industry related certification/education or related experience
  • Positive, professional, detail-oriented, discrete, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self directed, motivated, independent and able to take direction; “can do” leadership attitude
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and peers
  • Outstanding customer service; sincere desire to create a memorable guest experience; handle pressure gracefully; commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull 50 pounds; stand on feet for 8 hours
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ai; experience with POS, email marketing, web sales and social media
  • Excellent relationship building, communication, customer service, and problem solving skills
