Job description

Position Summary:
Boisset Collection is an independent, family-owned wine company with fast-paced and ever-growing entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the good life. The Wine Program Lead position is essential to continuing the accelerated growth of the Boisset Collection portfolio of brands and supporting an effective sales strategy for Oakville Grocery (Napa), Oakville Wine Merchant (Napa) as well as supporting the online wine fulfillment process. Primary responsibilities of this interim position include sales, inventory process and support, Tasting Room support, Retail Wine oversight including ordering, merchandising, marketing, and selling. In addition, the Wine Program Lead will support the eCommerce and fulfillment program – launch, implementation and execution.
Essential Functions:
. Support, Sales, Pricing and Promotional strategies:
  • Support ongoing availability of products with a focus on the Top 100 retail wines.
  • Ensure margin goals are in place and consistently maintained.
  • Support wine retail sales program at Oakville Grocery thorugh ordering, inventory support, merchandising and selling.
  • Lead wine merchandising, receiving, stocking.
  • Participate in wine selection process with Wine Program Manager, General Manager, VP of DTG.
Support Wine Program Manager, General Manager and Wine Sales Associates with outside sales opportunities including but not limited to:
  • Top Customer relationship sales
  • Phone Sales/Reach Out efforts to drive offsite sales
  • Unique email and/or text offers and follow up.
Support Oakville Wine Merchant Tasting Room Provides consistent leadership and oversight to maximize sales opportunities at the Oakville Wine Merchant.
  • Delivers and supports a world class high touch hospitality experience to every guest.
  • Fosters a fluid customer experience that encourages customers and employees to interact and have open and educated conversations about wine in a comfortable environment.
Inventory Support
  • Support Wine Program Lead to ensure receiving standards are in place and consistently executed.
  • Ensure compliance with receiving standards and protocols including invoice processing. Follow the PO process for ordering.
  • Inventory counts performed on time with a focus on exception-based variance management (top 10/bottom 10 focus).
  • Participates in month end inventory process under guidance of Wine Program Manager.
Web Retail Business and Fulfillment
  • Performs key role in the implementation of online wine sales program.
  • Support E-Commerce and Fulfillment operations.
  • Ensure outstanding guest satisfaction with online orders.
  • Support email marketing programs that effectively showcase products.
Additional Functions:
  • Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
  • Participate in team efforts and perform additional duties as needed.
  • Time amp; Attendance Record Keeping in PayCor.
Necessary Skills:
Language: Ability to speak and understand basic English required for all positions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, financial reports, legal documents, and policies and procedures. Ability to write detailed reports and compile supporting data. Ability to effectively present information to management, clients, outside consultants, and other business contacts, and to facilitate meetings or training sessions as needed.

  • Ability calculates items such as discounts, commissions, simple interest, percentages, areas, circumference, and volume. Ability to understand fractions, ratios, and proportions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to a variety of tasks and duties. Ability to adapt to minor changes in routine, solve basic problems, and work with moderate supervision.
Computer:
  • Possess advanced intermediate computer skills which can include e-mail, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database activity, graphic arts and/or publishing, intranet systems, and basic programming.
Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university; or 12-24 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current, valid Driver’s License, insurable driving record, and proof of current automobile insurance required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Moderate physical activity performing occasional somewhat strenuous activities including standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and carrying. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with the fingers. Requires lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs. in weight. Clear vision (close and distant) and ability to adjust focus. Hearing adequate for telephone, office, and group conversation.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation. Periods required in an un-heated indoor setting (wine cellar) with changing conditions. Short periods outdoors while conducting tours or moving between buildings. Moderate noise levels typical of public space: music sound system, public conversations, telephones/cell phones, large groups.
Schedule and Travel Requirements
  • Variable schedule: primarily a set schedule but may require weekends, periodic evenings, and/or periodic or seasonal overtime.
