In this important role, you will own all aspects of building, selling, and executing joint business plans that deliver the objectives of the Sam's Club and Kimberly-Clark Business Unit(s). Given the size and scale of the Sam's Club Family Care business, the Business Development Manager (BDM) must operate with an entrepreneurial mindset-identifying growth opportunities, translating insights into action, and moving with urgency to drive results.
This role requires strong ownership of the business, including understanding how plans impact brand strategies, customer priorities, and the broader marketplace. The BDM will lead Joint Business Planning by engaging key internal stakeholders from BU Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional teams, while partnering with key customer contacts to align on goals, plans, and execution priorities. You'll then lead the work with the customer and internal stakeholders to execute, measure progress, and proactively check and adjust as needed to deliver agreed-upon goals.
Internal to K-C, the BDM is responsible for leading key planning processes and engagements for Sam's Club Family Care, including Annual Operating Plan and Business Planning Processes, ongoing communications, and other actions needed to ensure alignment with BU strategies and adherence to K-C planning policies and processes. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional customer team members to analyze opportunities, remove barriers, and accelerate execution of the business plan.
About You
In one of our professional roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. Job responsibilities include:
  • Own delivery of Net Sales, Contribution, Category Share, Forecast and DPSM objectives for Sam's Club Family Care Business with clear accountability for results.
  • Lead the day-to-day business as the owner for the Sam's Club Family Care business; partnering with cross functional partners and BU partners to deliver the plan
  • Manage the business responsibly by adhering to Trade Promotion and dead net pricing guidelines while identifying opportunities to optimize investment and return.
  • Deliver JBP goals mutually agreed upon with Sam's Club by converting strategy into specific actions, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurially build the Customer Business Plan by identifying growth opportunities, challenging the status quo, and bringing forward solutions that create value for Sam's Club, K-C, and members.
  • Lead Joint Business Planning with the customer and internal stakeholders to gain alignment, drive decisions, and create clear action plans.
  • Implement the Customer Business Plan with urgency, strong follow-through, and proactive communication across cross-functional partners.
  • Monitor delivery of the plan and business objectives, quickly identifying risks or gaps and taking action to check, adjust, and close performance gaps.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ year's progressive exempt status experience in business, customer management and customer development or equivalent in other business functions.
  • Proficient in statistics and quantitative business analysis. Financial/budget, currency exchange and sales team management.
  • Experience presenting to Executive Level staff.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of forecasting, supply and demand processes, shelf reset experience, business planning processes and tools.
  • Experience working in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry and K-C customer/retailer accounts.
  • Strong record of exceeding sales objectives.
  • Knowledge of K-C organizational structure, brands, categories, go to market policies, and procedures
  • Track record of developing and executing unique solutions and innovation for customers, with demonstrated ownership from idea through action and results.
  • Digital commerce experience preferred.
  • Skills/Competencies: Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills, ownership mindset, entrepreneurial thinking, action orientation, results and strategy orientation, business intuition, business management and planning, brand management, leadership, building strong relationships, statistics and quantitative business analysis, change management and team management.
  • Mentoring, networking, employee training and development, resource management, prioritization, cross-functional leadership, superior customer service, proactive problem solving, and the ability to translate insights into action.

Salary Range: 122,280 - 151,040 USD
At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
