Job description


A reputable aerospace company, located in Redmond, WA, is currently hiring for a Purchasing Coordinator. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for managing open purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components to support business operations. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, procurement teams, planners, and internal stakeholders by monitoring order status, updating due dates, expediting critical orders, rescheduling orders based on demand changes, and coordinating order cancellations when necessary. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication to maintain supply chain continuity and inventory accuracy.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Balance the inbound flow of materials that support the manufacturing lines while also ensuring we are meeting our inventory KPI's.
  • Manage POs in accordance with defined inventory targets (ABC order policies & MOQ).
  • Ensure PO unit pricing does not exceed Std. Material costs and push back on supplier price increases.
  • Be proactive and take immediate action to address and resolve issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Negotiate volume price breaks with suppliers.
  • Identifies potential supplier shortages/capacity issues and collaborates with internal team members to help drive work prioritization.
  • Ensures technical issues are escalated and mitigated with stakeholder support.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting, but not limited to, performance, quality, lead-time, delivery, invoice discrepancies, and drive appropriate actions when needed.
  • Ensure MRP is updated with the correct purchased part parameters.
  • Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests, understanding requirements,s while building successful & productive customer relationships.
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
  • Ensures the Production Planning team has been informed of potential supplier shipment delays.
  • Escalates supply-related issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Manage RTVs with vendors as needed.

Qualification Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience within purchasing, procurement, or a related supply chain role.
  • Basic Excel, with Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, and Formula.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP system (i.e., SAP, QAD, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work with individuals across a broad range of functions and varying levels.
  • Ability to identify problems and take the initiative to resolve problems.
  • High motivation to learn, develop, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
