Job description

Job Overview:
As a Tile Installer at Brekhus, you will be responsible for the precise installation of tile surfaces on both residential and commercial projects. This includes working with a variety of materials such as ceramic, marble, and granite. Your role will involve preparing sub-surfaces, ensuring the proper application of adhesives, grout, and sealants, and cutting and installing tiles according to specifications. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation: Measure, mark, clean, and level surfaces in preparation for tile installation, following blueprints and project specifications.
  • Tile Installation: Cut and install ceramic, marble, and granite tiles, ensuring accurate placement and applying adhesives and grout for a secure, smooth finish.
  • Material Handling: Prepare, mix, and apply thin-set mortar, grout, and sealants; transport materials to job sites as needed.
  • Tile Cutting: Use tile cutters, saws, or other tools to cut and shape tiles to required sizes.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the Field Superintendent and team members to track project progress, address any issues, and clarify work orders.
  • Tool Maintenance: Ensure tools and equipment are maintained according to company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Jobsite Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Physical Requirements (Construction): Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. regularly.
