Job description

Christopherโ€™s Reason is a n 822 OASAS outpatient SUD treatment program dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care to individuals in recovery. We are currently seeking a full-time CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor - Trainee) who is bilingual in Spanish to join our team and support our diverse client population.

The CASAC-T will provide direct clinical and supportive services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves working closely with the clinical team to support treatment planning, facilitate groups, and assist clients in achieving and maintaining recovery.
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and recovery-based groups.
  • Provide individual support and case management services.
  • Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with OASAS standards.
  • Support clients with referrals to community resources (housing, employment, medical, etc.).
  • Attend weekly case conferences and supervision.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including clinicians, recovery coaches, and medical staff.
  • Monitor client progress and report any concerns to clinical supervisors.
  • Provide culturally competent services, particularly to Spanish-speaking clients.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CASAC-T required (active and in good standing).
  • Holds and maintains required certification(s) and completes required continuing education.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (required).
  • Experience working with substance use disorder and/or mental health populations preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of OASAS regulations and documentation standards preferred.
